So far school is amazing. I'm learning a lot really fast though, and I have absolute jackalopes of homework. (That's lots and lots)

I now know how to make my own webpage, as well as use basic CSS styles. I'm nowhere near making something like DA or Facebook, but those site you probably saw in 1998? yeah. I can make those.

as for programming, I can make a lot of text based things. If I had the time, I could make a text based adventure game. So far all I've done is make functions that calculate stuff like mortgage payments...

People, Linux isn't for hardcores only anymore. Ubuntu especially is built to introduce new users. Also, its free! And because its open source, it has much faster support than windows. That said, I still like windows 7 more than the Linux distributions I've tried.

I do suggest dual-booting though! (Two operating systems on one computer)

If you can install an operating system, You should be able to handle Linux. If you don't know what an OS is, stick with Windows.

You program? What programs do you use?
I'm trying to learn, but it's so time consuming. Time I don't have/would like to spend on photoshop.lol

So far, I can write basic programs in Batch, Bash, Python, and assembler :P

If you want to start, try Python. it's a high level language, but it's the easiest place to start. Lots of documentation for newbies! :P
